Daniel Barker and Jeff Lavoie take top honours for the Saints in inaugural season


The Québec Saints held their inaugural awards night in Montréal at the Irish Embassy on Saturday the 22nd November after a very promising first season. In the category of Best and Fairest Australian it was Aussie Rules rookie Daniel Barker who took out top honours polling 46 votes in his first year playing organized footy, Runner-up went to veteran Sam Heath who polled 38 votes a mere 1 vote ahead of the underrated workhorse of the Saints Fred Frost who finished on 37. In the Canadian/Non-Australian section it was Québec City's own Jeff Lavoie who ran away with top honours finishing with 46 votes, Second place and Runner-up the London based Brit Tim Adisa in his first venture into Aussie Rules with 39 votes, Ronan Rouxell who was handed the tough position of ruckman at the start of the season showed his class in the position by coming in third in the voting with 37 votes.

Saints Captain Vincent Pottier took out the 2008 'Most Promising Player' award while the Coach's award was given to Alexandre Rochette who made huge progress throughout the year developing into one of the teams top Canadians. The top goalkicker for 2008 was Saints coach Superboot Anthony Williams. The Saints 2008 Season has now officially come to an end with many exciting times ahead for 2009...

Saints Awards night 22nd November 7:00pm


The Québec Saints will hold their inaugral Awards night at The Irish Embassy Pub 1234 Rue Bishop, 22nd November at 7:00pm, it is located below St Catherine. Metro's Lucien Lallier or Guy Concordia.

Saints take time to reflect on a year of hard work while looking forward to 2009

After the hugely successful launch of the E.C.A.F.L in Quebec, plans are in place for an expansion of the league in 2009 with a fixture to be announced early March 2009 and the possibilty of teams from Quebec City and Ottawa taking up invitations to participate in the league.

AFL Canada has also announced plans to host the first ever club 'Nationals' in Calgary in July of 2009, although the Saints are still very much in the development stages all efforts will be made to see Quebec is represented at the carnival.
