Saints v Bombers rivalry set to continue in '09

The 2009 ECAFL season is just around the corner and the battle between neighbours across the riviere des prairies is about to begin. In 2008 the Laval Bombers surpised everyone upsetting the Saints by 8 points in what was arguably the best game of football for the year. 2009 will be a whole new ball game as the dynamics of both teams have shifted, the Bombers will be without Best and Fairest player Daniel Barker who has returned home to Australia, the Saints will also be waiting on the availibilty of the Quebec City star players who played major roles in the game last year, two of which (Jaye Macumber & Jeff Lavoie) took out Best on Ground honours for the game. Of course aswell as the local ECAFL games players from both teams combined will represent the Quebec Saints in Ottawa against visiting teams from Toronto, an iniative formed with OAFL club the Ottawa Swans in a bid to further strengthen Aussie Rules in our region.
