The Ottawa Swans football club announced last week that Corey Bowen will take the helm as head coach for 2009 replacing Rich Keane who held the position in '07 and '08. Swans president Ray Kaduck commented on their website "Mr Bowen was selected on the basis of his experience playing in Australia, his performance as assistant coach in 2008 and his overall knowledge of the playing group. We believe that he will be able to build on the foundations created in 2008 and take the team to a new level in 2009" 2008 saw the Swans finish in last position, finishing a difficult first year without a win, 0-13, and with a percentage of 26.21.
The Québec Saints will in partnership with the Swans in '09 be acting as their 'farm' team and many of our players will be working closely with Corey throughout the year.
The Saints congratulate Corey Bowen on his appointment as head coach and wish the Swans the best of luck for the upcoming 2009 season.
