POINTE CLAIRE POWER INTO GRAND FINAL WITH TWO VICTORIES AT HOME

The Pointe Claire Power secured top spot and a guaranteed ticket into the 2010 ECAFL Grand Final with two victories in Round 5 of the ECAFL. Playing for the first time in the West Island the Power used their home ground advantage to man handle the '09 champion Bombers crushing the team from Laval to the tune of 77 points POWER 18.14 (122) def. BOMBERS 6.9 (45). In game 2 with everything still on the line the Power and Saints played out a classic, the Power holding on to take the win by 8 points. POWER 10.13 (73) def. SAINTS 9.11 (65). The 'Anthony Williams' trophy winner was also on the line for the leading goalkicker for the season. Power player Cam Beaman kicked 6 goals for the day (3,3) to finish on 19 goals for the year and claim the award in front of Mat Wilson 15 goals (2 for today), Darrin Haverhoek 15 goals (3 for today) and Daniel Barker 14 goals (2 for today).
The Finals series will be played at PARC CLUNY in Laval on Sunday September 5th from noon.
